What does this mean? Most blog software had built in code that block search engines from follow links in comments- it was done to help stop spam- much like the way nofollow links were done on wikipedia.
The side effect of that is people comment less- one of the reason people comment is to get link back to their own site.
By disabling “nofollow” you encourage people to post on your site and promote discussion. I have some pretty heavy duty spam filters set up and manually approve comments so crap doesn’t get through.
I am pretty liberal with approving comments if they are not spam and are topic related. Your links will also be followed both by readers and search engines.
