So will write about that as well. The last week I made a BIG push and really watched what i hate and forced myself to go for a couple of walks.
I was on a real roll making and eating those meringue cookies every day… so stopped that. Was conscious of eating in am and cut out rice. So instead of fish /rice/salad for dinner I have just been having more salad or throwing in some roasted soy beans and sunflower seeds, cranberries etc to make more interesting. Also watching how much milk I drink- I can tend to drink too much.
So- I MAY see a 270-ish number be this weekend. Will be a big milestone for me. I have some challenging situations coming up- a family dinner on the weekend and a potluck Friday. I have done pretty well at potlucks since i stared dieting and hope to continue the trend.

Will post more details later- but Dr. Wharton is moving to a Hamilton location and Dr. Berlingieri will stay in Burlington. The names are changing too. Last few times I have been it has been pretty crowded.
Dr. Wharton was quite excited about the movie- he hinted that they would have lots more stuff for patients and he wanted to give them more attention, etc.

yes its true. I have not lost a single pound in 6 weeks. i weight the same as I did at the beginning of March. I have an appointment with Dr. Wharton in two weeks and I am freaking out. I know he will be fine but I just don’t know what I am doing wrong. I am not over eating. i am not binging. I know at Easter I went up to 288 (!) and know I am back to 282 but I really thoguth I would be in the 270’s by now. My only hope is i can where shorts to my next visit and that will seem like I lost weight.
I don;t think I have lost focus. I hate to keep whining about it but I have felt like a lump since taking the Synthroid and just CANNOT move. This is the only thing I can think of. I will have to force myself to have some sort of activity.
I am starting to feel a bit of anxiety creep in.

I have been increasingly unhappy with the blog theme for this site- the sidebar is a bit of a mess and I can’t use widgets. I would certainly never say I have any kind of web design talent. I have picked up a bit of programming ability over the last year but not entirely comfortable with it - I tend to make sloppy mistakes and then can’t fix them and have to start all over again. I have been looking into the idea of actually getting a custom web design . I did actually hire some one last year and it was a DISASTER. I got some one form a “getafreelancer” type site and he said he could do SEO, etc and I exchanged a few emails with him and then he disappeared. I would never go to a site like that again. I would much prefer to go to and hire a professional.
I am useless when it comes to logo design so perhaps will get some one to design me a ’slick” logo as well for my header. Again, I have been burned by well meaning friends and relatives who tell me they know what they are doing… but DON’T. Will keep you posted.

I started taking Synthroid about a month ago. I had some symptoms of hypothyroidism but none that couldn’t be explained by just being a busy parent, etc.
I swear i feel a hundred times worse since taking medication that is supposed to make me feel better. My numbers wer not high in my blood test results int he 9/10 range for TSH ( norm is .5-5.5) . Since taking Synthroid I wake up with a headache and between4-6pm I feel like a truck hit me. LCotton headed and connot move. I thought I would have more energy but I have MUCH less.
For a while I had awful mood swings but those are gone- thank-god. I wonder if I am getting enough medication/ Why would I feel WORSE???
At any rate I am miserable.

I see adds on the Internet ALL the time for diet pills- marketing and selling to overweight people is a HUGE billion dollar industry and it is difficult to find hard evidence on the science of them.
It hard to find hard evidence as to whether any of them work. I was wondering if anyone had experience with ephedra type diet pill, like phentermine, lipodrene with Ephedra, allia, etc.
Although I know allia is a weaker version of Xenical.
How do they work? Are they an appetite suppressant or do they claim to speed up metabolism. I am dubious but would like to here opinions on the pills from people who have used the, Did you lose weight? How do you feel?

I wrote about the delicious meringue cookies I was buying at Costco a couple of months ago- Costco stopped carrying them so I have been on a hunt to duplicate them. I came up with my own recipe and they are as good if not better. These are oneof the best meringue cookies I have ever tried- whole family raved about them. They work out to be about 30 calories a cookie.
The fat comes from nuts so feel free to omit. The are light and crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. Perfect!
Best Almond Meringue Cookie Recipes
Makes 24 nice sized cookies approx 30 calories each.
Preheat oven to 275F.
4 egg whites
pinch of salt
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 packet vanilla powder or vanilla bean
1 1/3 cup of white sugar
1/4 finely chopped/crushed almonds ( can also use any nut / pistachios)
Beat egg whites. salt and cream of tartar to soft peak than add vanilla powder/bean and gradually add sugar until stiff peak. Fold in nuts.
Drop onto parchment lined cookie sheets.
Bake for 35 mins.
Store in air tight container.
