Low Calorie, High Protein and High Fiber Snack - Kozy Shack Tapioca Pudding

Yes, Good ole Costco again… The has samples of their sugar free Tapioca pudding yesterday. The brand is Kozy Shack Sugar-Free Tapioca Pudding.
The generous serving size has 3 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber and 90 calories. It does however have 2 grams of fat. It is also sweetened with splenda. I have also seen in grocery stores but was good price- 5.79 for 12 at Costco.

The protein is about the same as a yogurt but you also get the fibre have also tried their other sugar free products , like Sugar Free Chocolate pudding- which I did not like at all.

I have not tried their sugar free rice pudding- but would like to. All of their sugar free products had similar nutritional breakdown.

Slippery Slope… One’s Too Many and a Thousand Not Enough

The saying in post title refers to the way many alcoholics feel about alcohol. I can relate.

Last week I quasi-binged on these Almond Meringue thingy-s from Costco. I ate about 20 of them in a day… felt GROSS. Calorie-wise it was about 600 calories- but was the sugar that got me going… the next day I has a Werther’s candy from bowl that beside cash at a store.. then I bought a bag of the candies at the grocery store the next day… Went to a potluck the day after that and was nibbling at cheesecake and baklava!

WTF? How’d that happen???? I trace it back to the cookies a few days earlier.
I REALLY REALLY cannot have sugar. It send me into a tailspin that makes me feel out of control.

Sugar is My Drug of Choice

I think may just have to treat it like a “drug” that gives me negative side effects. I am fine when i don’t have have it.. but a little bit can topple me over.
It is embarrassing to have to write this . When I take an honest look at me eating and the fact the I don’t have control over my eating. My first husband was an alcoholic and when we discussed his drinking I could completely relate to feeling he had. He used to say to me “Every day I wake up telling myself I won’t drink… and every day I drink” The despair and total lack of hope in those words still haunts me today.

Hanging In There…

Seem to have hit bit of a wall. I have been 289 FOREVER… it seems. I want to be at 275v by Christmas and will have to really step it up.

I am getting bit sloppy- not journalling my foods, forgetting to eat in AM or putting it off… There was an Almond meringue Incindt last week. They have these Almond Rocher cooke=ies ( more like a toasted merigue) at Coscto for 5.99 and they have 60 calories for 2… great except if you con yourself into eating 20.

Made huge quantitites of apple crisp last week… Noitve pasta portins are getting bigger and having 8 meatballs instead of 6. Stuff like that.

I think journalling is really key, Bit of a slippery slope whe you stop.
I did try a really good new meal replacement bar 9 tho might be a snack bar) I got at Loblaws 2/3.00. They are the Pria Brand and shockingly good. I like as much or more than the Equate Caramel peanut ones.

Some More Online Deals

My laptop is dying as I type here… so I am keeping my eye out for a deal on a new one.

Found another Coupon site with ZILLIONS of for online deals. They have coupons for Dell Canada which is unusual- though with Canadian dollar tempting to buy one across the border using Dell coupon code and have it shipped to friend in the States.

The site is pretty good for coupon site- no flashing banners or pop-ups. Easy to find what you are looking for. I am a DEAL freak and see alot of coupon and deal sites. Most times the sites have coupons for sites you would never shop from. This one is pretty good- they have deasl listed for Gap. Old navy, Tiger Direct. Sephora and many others.

Why No Weight Loss Updates?

Yes I know- no I have not gone off the wagon! My last appt was late October and I don’t have another one scheduled until December with Dr. Wharton. I like to use the same scale.

I bough a new hi-tech one last week and I don;t think the weight correspond ;-) I should be at about 185 and it is reading around 291- which would mean 4 lbs in 2 weeks and that SEEMS unlikely- but but I have hit a wall. I will try and update when something interesting to report .

Redo-ing The Bedroom

On top of everything else that is going on- we are finally settling in after our move and I am re-doing our master bedroom. The woman who lived here before us was a widow- and it shows :( . I am shocked but who can really find great bedroom furniture online They have a HUGE inventory and a nice “grown-up” look. No more IKEA stuff for us!

My current bedroom is VERY country - not shabby chic good kind of country- but more like country kitchen country:-) Think hens and roosters. In part of my new ay of living I am going for a serene spa/bed and breakfast look. Will do walls in a pale celery green with clean white accents . Very simple. Also looking at a green and white quilt and a new headboard for our bed. The bed is king sized so have to get something subdued.

My new weight loss goal is to be BELOW 270 lbs by Christmas. That’s is about 20 lbs to lose in next 6 weeks. Might be tough but my incentive will be the new headboard .If I get down to 270 that will have been 50 lbs since I started Sept 1. 2007 and want to get something really nice!

Went Clothes Shopping Today- Down 2 Sizes!

I went to buy some clothes today- most of my clothes are fitting that well. I am guessing I am at the 30 lbs mark ( 30 lbs lost) but scale doesn’t work…
I am down to a svelte 22! Last time I went shopping for jeans I was really upset- I couldn’t fit into the largest sizes available ( I think 24/26 range) .. so today was great to try and clothes and feel good.
I ended up not buying anything.. I have a couple of pairs of jeans that should fit soon.
I am KICKING myself as week- I gave away some NEW with tags stuff about 4 months ago- convinced I would never fit into them and was depressing having them hanging in the closet.

I lost quite a bit of weight about 10 years ago- almost 100 lbs on Slimfast in about 8 months.. I just bought new pair of jeans about every 3 months and wore them to death. I think I will do pretty much the same.
Any ideas on what to do about clothing as you rapidly lose weight? I can’t buy new set every 3 months!

Some Good Coupons to Use Over the Holidays

Wow… the climbing dollar is really making it tempting to do some of my Christmas shopping over the border! I have been actively lloking for gifts - now that Halloween is out of the way. I startesd doing my Christmas shopping early about 4 years ago- and was a FANTASTIC decision. I was one of the first people I know to buy online ( back in 1997) and it is a godsend.
My standard gift for in-laws ( out-laws!) is something from The Body Shop. I worked as merchandiser for them for a number of years and I am as impressed now as I was then by their quality and commitment to social justice. I found some GREAT The Body Shop coupons including deals on shipping, body butters and lips balms ( great stocking stuffers!)

I do a TON of shopping at Target- both brick and mortar as well as online. Lately I have been more and more online- since they often have many regular Target deals on shipping as well as cash off your total purchase.

Be sure and visit CouponChief.com over the holiday season to find deals and coupons for all your favorite, name brand stores.
